A direct burial is an unattended burial at a cemetery whereby the deceased is buried without a service.
From just £1195 a direct burial is becoming one of the most popular funeral options and provides the opportunity for family and friends to celebrate the life of the deceased in their own way.
How a Direct Burial works
A direct burial involves no funeral service. It is usually unattended. It is ideal if you want a small funeral, either because of cost or due to the wishes of the loved one.
What does a Direct Burial include?
- Taking care of all the necessary legal and administrative arrangements and paperwork
- Collecting your loved one from a hospital within a 100 mile radius of Central Bedfordshire, along with their preparation and care until the day of the funeral
- The provision of a quality coffin
- Confirmation of date of burial
- Transportation to a local cemetery/churchyard in a suitable funeral private ambulance
- Funeral personnel to conduct the burial at the cemetery
What is not included on a Direct Burial?
- Visiting the deceased in a chapel of rest
- A choice of coffin
- Dressing the deceased in their own clothes
- Choosing the date and time of the burial
- Cemetery fees (please contact us for cemetery fees)
- Attending the cemetery service
- An additional charge may be made for bringing the deceased into our care outside normal business hours
- Chapel visits are not permitted
- We will not carry out any embalming of the deceased person
- There will be no additional optional extras
